Brendon's Catch 23

Food was excellent, but the 90-minute service window does not suit some diners. We felt rushed and hovered-over by our fast-taking and overly attentive waiter, Craig. That was unfortunate, as our waiter two years ago was fabulous. Dining at Brendon's should be a relaxing, sweet interlude. We'll try again next year.

My coworkers and I treated ourselves to a nice meal the night before a flight out of Louisville. Brendon's is on the ground floor of the attached embassy suites. The restaurant was dark and modern, with interestingly high ceilings and a quiet atmosphere.
The waiter was friendly, but overly familiar. He knew the menu well and sold us on the seafood, always a gamble so far inland from water. Apparently Brendon's does second day shipping for all fish, sourcing the salmon from the Faroe Islands etc.
We started with Lobster Mac and the Kentuckfeller oysters. The Lobster Mac was phenomenal, and they chared the tail in a way that imparted the delicate lobster meat with a hint of smokiness that really elevated the Mac and cheese. We were all surprised that the portion of lobster was a whole tail. The Mac was creamy with a larger noodle that really paired nicely. The oysters were delicious but on the greasy side, a function of being rockerfellered rather than the kitchen not cooking well. The ham was an interesting addition, though I definitely got Midwestern casserole vibes.
For entrees, we ordered the prime smoked Brisket, catfish and the scallops in pea risotto. I didn't grab a picture of the brisket entree, but did grab a picture of my catfish and my coworker's scallops. The catfish had a very delicate batter to it. I was pretty impressed with how the ridges of the catfish were still visible. It was cooked well, though the fry masked the flavor of the fish. It was definitely an Asian inspired take on the dish, with a lime soy dipping sauce and a fresh tartar sauce. The fish itself was served on some lime slices sprinkles with sesame seeds. The presentation was nice and the lime really cut through the heaviness of the fried fish. The mashed potatoes were delicious if not memorable, and the green beans had a nice flavor and crisp bite.

Let's talk about Brendon's.

First, the ambiance of the restaurant is great. They played good music and had a couple tvs with the ball game on. Second, the food was Amazing! I had the corn chowder, brisket, and the bourbon ice cream. The recommendation is all mine. Lastly, the service. Morris and Ross assisted with tonight service at the bar and you better ask Morris about his old fashioned or you will be shamed! Ross is a great guy and willing to help you pick out the best choices on the menu!

Come on by and treat yourself.

First of all the service and staffs are awesome I also like the ambiance and the foods were great.

We have try several dishes and all were not disappointed.
My favorite is the Yellow fin tuna steak, it was delicious.

Will definitely return when we're in town.

Excellent meal at Brendon's! The warm jar of crab appetizer was decadent! Our bartender, Ross, was personable and helpful, and our server, MJ, was great.

The interior dinning and bar area was nice and dim, perfect for intimate settings. I was impressed on how tender and flavorful the salmon was but the sides were underwhelming and the portions were too small for the price paid.

This meal was so good!

We were in Kentucky for our friend's birthday and he decided he wanted his birthday meal to be at a seafood and steakhouse. I'm always a bit weary of ordering seafood while I'm inland so I chose the 8 oz filet mignon with a side of mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and so tender!

I started my meal with a caramel apple martini that in hindsight should have been a dessert drink. It was delicious but super sweet and took awhile to drink. I eventually swapped over to a vodka mule instead to go with dinner.

My vegetarian boyfriend unsurprisingly had few options here. He ended up sharing a couple of appetizers with the table (whipped goat cheese bruschetta and herb and cheese filled mushrooms) and had the wedge salad without bacon as his main course. Looking at the menu now, I see there's a cauliflower steak option that wasn't there when we went but would be a great alternative to permanently add to the menu.

We were seated in a private room for 9 and we enjoyed the seclusion. Our waiter was attentive and we had a great time.

Superb seafood. Elegant setting. Professional service. What's not to like about this restaurant? It's expensive but there's value to be had , especially the calamari. The fish is fresh and cooked to perfection. I've been here more than once and never disappointed.

Came through around 9pm on 05/10 and the hostess was horribly rude so we left. As we walked around we decided we didn't want to settle for tourist pub food so we went back and were seated. Angel and Morris "Mo" provided service for the remainder of the night and redeemed the experience. Mo knows his libations and was ecstatic when I requested some sazeracs for us which were actually prepared properly- bravo! The smoked brisket was dry, but had a good flavor. Their Mac n cheese was super solid, and my wife said the Chilean sea bass was solid. I lean more towards 3.5 stars but offer the 4 due to Angel and Mo's service

Excellent service accompanied by beyond excellent food. Ordered drinks before the meal. The Mule was an excellent choice.
