Senior environmental engineer Rachel P. has worked in the Environmental and Facilities Operations group at Toyota Mississippi for almost a decade. She shared with us more about how her role keeps her energized and why Toyota Mississippi is a special place✨: "My job doesn't adhere to a typical routine and that's what I find most enjoyable. Each day brings its own unique set of tasks and challenges. Whether I'm inspecting waste satellite areas, assisting our waste contractor with problem-solving, or training new hires on environmental expectations, there's always something different to tackle. Being a woman in this field has been quite challenging. However, these experiences have helped me cultivate immense strength and resilience. I thrive on challenges, and I’m grateful for Toyota's commitment to inclusion. Embracing different in backgrounds fosters a richness of perspectives and ideas. This inclusivity is what truly distinguishes Toyota as an outstanding company. Toyota Mississippi is a special place because of the people. Witnessing the team members come together to support one another during times of need has been truly remarkable. This plant is filled with individuals who are always willing to lend a helping hand. In times of adversity, the team members rally together to provide support and uplift each other, fostering a spirit of unity and compassion." #LifeatToyota

Today, we honor the unsung heroes powering our manufacturing plants and driving our success. At Toyota, we don't just see our suppliers as partners; they're family. According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census, about 90% of American businesses are family-owned or controlled, and many of our diverse-certified suppliers have been with us for generations. Together, we've grown, supported each other, and shaped success. On this day, let's celebrate the power of collaboration and the strength of our supply chain family! #NationalSupplyChainDay #LifeatToyota

For over 40 years, Toyota North America has been assembling cars in the U.S., but their impact goes beyond manufacturing. They're committed to helping communities by educating children, training workers, and improving the environment. 🌎 That's why Toyota partners with the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) to empower young people to develop environmental awareness & solutions. Over the past year, Toyota has helped support JGI on a series of events as part of the Roots & Shoots program. Together they have hosted four events with five more planned in the coming year. Roots & Shoots has been working since 1991 to get young people involved in conservation. In the U.S., Roots & Shoots operates in 50 states through over 2000 individual groups, with more than 63,000 participants. TAASiA collaborated with UT Arlington’s SASE (Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers) chapter to show students what it's like working at Toyota! #LifeatToyota During their visit, the students participated in a Resume Workshop where they learned what makes a good resume and had their resumes reviewed by Talent Acquisition and hiring managers. We also had a “Day in the Life” Panel where TAASiA members were able to talk about their #careerjourney at Toyota, and some of their favorite projects they’ve worked on. This session was followed by a networking activity, allowing students to forge personal connections with our team members. 👏
