Bluegrass Brewing Company has been at the forefront of the craft beer scene since opening the first location in St. Matthews in 1993, winning more awards than any other local brewery. In addition to its beers on tap all over town, BBC has three locations for enjoying its wares. The original brewpub in St. Matthews beckons to over 900 members of its Worthog Club, who receive their own personalized mugs, free monthly tastings, and preview samplings of upcoming beers. It has become a gathering place for brewing aficionados and neighborhood residents alike. The Main Street location is in a renovated building downtown and has a three-tiered, versatile space for all types of occasions. The old stone and brick of the lower floor gives it a British pub feel, while the main room combines original marble floors, decorated ceilings, and panoramic views. The BBC Four Roses Bourbon Barrel Loft on the third floor has a speakeasy vibe that's perfect for private parties, business meetings, rehearsal dinners, and wedding receptions.

Fun spot on Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville. Atmosphere is nice; lots of exposed brick and the music isn't overwhelmingly loud. The draft list isn't huge (9 on tap when I visited) but a nice selection of styles to suit most tastes. The food menu has a nice mix of items including veggie options.
Service was fast and friendly. Note they are closed on Sundays and Mondays so plan accordingly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 21, 2023
Bluegrass Brewing Company is a staple of Louisville. They helped to pioneer the microbrewery scene, and since 2010 they have occupied a former bank space downtown
When in Louisville you have to try a hot brown. The hot brown at BBC features sliced turkey, tomatoes, bacon, mornay sauce, cheddar jack cheese, and smoked paprika served open-faced over sourdough toast ($17.90). This is a great example of this famous Louisville dish and the serving size is large enough that it could be shared.
Bluegrass Brewing Company is worth a stop for great pub food and while you are there try a dank IPA.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 6, 2023
We came here after seeing it nearby from our hotel and gave it a shot mostly for the food but also for some drinks. My friend is more of the beer drinker but I am looking for the good food. It was an easy walk from most places in downtown Louisville. We were seated right away on the upper floor and we had great service from our waiter. The ambiance is really chill and relaxed which caught me off guard because I saw a lot of people walking in who are dressed up very nice. They must have a banquet room further upstairs as hoards of people came in.
I had just one of the regular burgers but it was really darn good! The brioche bun was amazing and overall just full of flavors. My friend had the Reuben which was also just really good and top-notch high quality. You do not want to ruin a Reuben sandwich when it comes with so many delicious ingredients. Overall a great place! Would definitely return next time we are in Louisville.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 27, 2024
Upon passing the bluegrass brewing co I didn't know what to expect. I have to say I was highly surprised the service was great my cousin and I sat at the bar and the bar tender really was nice and helped us walk through the menu. I got the fish and chips which was great. I did wish the coleslaw was a little more vinegary but, overall was nice.

While in Louisville for work, I stopped in for lunch. It has an odd layout with an upstairs and downstairs...it seemed a little choppy. They have decent beer. The wait staff were super friendly and helpful. I had a salad for lunch; it was fine. My colleague had a burger; it was pretty amazing. We ended up going back there for dinner drinks later with some other colleagues. I had the crab cakes....oh my god....they might have been the best crab cakes I have ever had in my life!! They had just a hint of spicy...sooooo good! I would definitely go back for those! Check out this place if you are in Louisville and definitely get the crab cakes!

We were excited to come here but we're soooo underwhelmed. All the food was just ok. The pulled pork was swimming in sauce. Some people love that, not our think. Good pulled pork shouldn't have to be disguised with sauce Just nothing special about it all.

We just stopped in for a quick beer before heading back to our hotel to freshen up for dinner. The beer was good--though not spectacular. Even so I'd have another. (I can't comment on the food though the menu looked promising and the bartender claimed their Hot Brown is better than the one at its namesake hotel. If I get back to Louisville I'll let you know what I think.)

The beers are worth a stop in to try a flight. Their bourbon barrel is really good . They were out of their Raspberry Meade so what does that tell you. Do a flight and enjoy. To the brewmaster... good stuff you have crafted ....but maybe try a blood orange IPA .

We stopped in just to try their beer. They offer flights (4 beers). I tried the 007 Blonde, Wheat, Raspberry Meade & Alt Bier. The Raspberry Mead was my favorite, but they all were actually pretty good.
They were all flavorful and were distinct. I enjoyed them all. I would recommend if you aren't a bourbon drinker, but looking for something to try new.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
