Repeal Oak Fired Steakhouse

Fantastic experience. I recommend, to start, the oysters, be they on the half-shell or Rockefeller. Heck why not both. Then the 22oz. dry aged steak with a spectacular bottle of Barolo. Nothing could be better. And be sure to ask for your waiter to Ibrahim. Server-extraordinaire.

Oh, and don't forget the bread pudding......you will regret not having it.

With all respect -- the meals here are really good. But not as jaw-dropping as you act as if it is. The smugness and attitude of several of the bartenders was a negative for us.

At one time we set waiting to be served and then were treated poorly because we asked if anyone was assigned to our table. Really? It's not the customer's job to be asked for their order.

Decent food. Great drinks. Crappy attitude by the servers that makes the experience here repugnant.

Run don't walk! If you find yourself in Downtown Louisville KY this place is a must. Walking into the restaurant the ambiance is beautiful! Large display of bourbons and the bar is large.

Make reservations!! We had reservations for 6:15 pm on a Thursday and the place was already full. We were seated right away.

Ordered the lobster bisque. Very fancy presentation poured at table. Also ordered the French onion soup. Which is served with a pair of scissors to cut the stringy cheese which is ingenious.

The bread and butter are heavenly.

Service was good. Found it strange the waiter took away my butter knife and took my guests butter knife and placed it on the bread plate. So we now had to share a butter knife to sitter our bread. No big deal. Just strange as this place is an elegant restaurant

We wash ordered the 8pm filet. BEST filet I have ever eaten and I have been to many upscale steak houses.

Visit Michael at the bar. Not only is he awesome, but he provides great recommendations. The food here is amazing. We had the waygu burger and deviled eggs. It was a quick lunch and we can't wait to go back.

One of the best lunch spots in Louisville. Salt in the Bar area- Kate was a very attentive server as being the bartender as well. Great atmosphere, very good service. One of the Best Shrimp Cocktail sauce in Louisville- spicy with horseradish sauce. Loved the Wedge Salad- it is huge(u could split it) and had an excellent NY Strip cooked to perfection along with the best Steak Wedges Fries! One of our fav spots!

Had a great time having brunch at Repeal. For appetizer, we had the truffle burrata and I love that the jam did not overpower the cheese. The hint of truffle elevated the flavor.

We also enjoyed the wagyu burger--perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. The brioche bun was toasted just right, crisp on the outside but soft and buttery inside. This might be our favorite burger in Louisville.

Next, we split the Repeal Oscar Steak and Eggs. It was delicious. However I made sure to order the steak medium-rare but received medium. It still tasted great; and the crab and béarnaise on top really took the dish to a different level. The asparagus that came with the dish was cooked just right and seasoned well--but if I am to really nitpick, I was a bit bothered by the hard stalk at the end of one of my asparagus; I wish they took the time to improve the presentation and cut out the ends of the asparagus...

Service was also great. Our server was very attentive and really took care of us from beginning to end.

We will be back for dinner service next time.

You will need to book a reservation but don't try the day of - you'll have to book a week or so in advance. We stopped in before dinner was being served so we got a bar table which is first come first serve. Our server Courtney was sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the crab cake, shared a steak and potato. We were disappointed that the steak didn't have much flavor to it. This is a perfect date night establishment with dark lights and lots of drink options.

Repeal never disappoints! We stopped in for date night and had Oysters Rockefeller, Golden Beets and Apple Salad, Brush Creek Ranch Wagyu Steakburger and Alaskan King Crab legs. Everything was delicious! The service was outstanding. We can't wait to come back!

This might be the best steak I've had and I've had a lot. This was incredible. Cooked to temp perfectly, good flavor, and incredible presentation. We had several apps, entrees, and sides. Our server blew us away with his knowledge of the menu. I wish I could remember his name. He also gave us lots of tips for enjoying our stay in NuLu. The restaurant is pretty loud. That was kind of a bummer, but we loved the restaurant. Cannot wait to come back.
