My daughter, grandson and I went for Brunch. It was very tasty. The pancake and bacon were spot on. The ice coffee was a big hit with my grandson. Our server Jer was excellent!!!

Best chicken livers this side of the Mississippi.
Silver dollar is in an old firehouse that serves whiskey for days and has a classic phonograph with some classic 80s country hits playing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 10, 2016Previous reviewSomething amazing for every budget. Free pig on Sunday nights.

Start the timer!
Seated at 7pm.
7:02 menus and water brought to the patio.
7:03 returned and drinks ordered
Old fashioned. With Makers mark.
7:07 dinner ordered! Chicken and Waffles, Steak Frites.
Ok we tried the Old Fashioned's and wow, we had a struggle not to just chug them down! Perfectly smooth, slightly smoky and sweet with not too much bitterness. A muddled orange peel but no cherry. It wasn't needed anyway! Made by none other than Charles, our server!
7:30 dinner delivered and it looks great, until we cut into the steak(which looked cooked perfectly on the outside, but turned out to be well done and though we hated to do it we just had to send the steak back.
In the meantime, munched on some of the best fries in Louisville, the Truffle Fries with that steak Frites plate. Wow. Perfectly crisp on the outside, just the right amount of give in the middle, and not overly truffle in flavor. Perfect
New steak at 7:46pm. Cooked as expected and bursting with flavor. Issue rectified. It happens.
7:55pm asked for check.
7:58pm bill received and paid.
Thanks to Charles, our server!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 7, 2024
One of the coolest hang out spots on Frankfort. We went here for dinner around 8:30 and were sat immediately. As we ate dinner they were playing great vinyls - Jerry Jeff Walker. We ordered two drinks but the Gold rush won us over. For starters, we ordered the brussel sprouts which were flavorful and enough for a meal. We ordered the steak frites brisket sandwich. The flavor both were on point. Definitely a great place to visit when it town.

Your website advertises last seating for dinner is at 10pm on weekdays. I arrived just before 10 but was told dinner was over. Please change the website if this info is no longer accurate. Cute place though.

First of all if you are here for breakfast don't pass on the biscuit basket. Light, fluffy, crispy and buttery. Our classic breakfasts were perfect! Excellent gravy! The hashbrown casserole was delicious! What a fun place! It's an old firehouse. The stack of LP's in the corner were rotated through on the record player and kept us thinking of Marty Robbins. Staff were funny and attentive. Decently priced. Will definitely come back for lunch or dinner.

Traveling for work and my team wanted to go grab dinner. They've been with the company for years so make regular trips to Louisville, so they know the area. I'm only three months in and it's my first trip to the area. Dinner as a team and they picked The Silver Dollar.
This is a neighborhood bar with a southern-inspired menu with some Mexican twists. We all ordered beverages...beers for my colleagues and a margarita for me. The margarita was pretty basic with not salt, no lime (until I asked for one). The mix was okay but it needed the hit of lime acidity. With the lime it was decent.
For appetizers we got fried pickles and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were really good and the pickles were as advertised.
For entrees we got a variety...pulled pork sandwich with no bun, shrimp and grits, catfish sandwich and taquitos for me. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. For me the taquitos had a really good filling and the salad was a nice counterpoint for the fried taquitos.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Neil D.Chicago, IL3632041Feb 25, 2024
I was excited to try this well reviewed spot for a weekend early lunch. Sadly, left super disappointed. First, my hot chicken sandwich arrived looking slightly odd. Was smaller than the bun, which is rare for any a normal thigh sandwich. Oh well, thought I'd try for flavor. which while heavily oily, was flavorful for 1st few bites. Then it gave way to the toughest chicken I can remember being served:( it's as if the suspect piece had been carved wrong. Hard to even cut with a knife.
To add to the disappointment, server was so busy rolling silver, I never saw him again after food arrived. $38 spent w/ side of potatoes & bloody Mary, w/ a different staff member closing us out. So didn't want to Stiff the entire staff but ridiculous to spend close to $40 for something mostly unedible w/ no staff attentive enough to tell about itHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 4, 2023
Came in for cocktails (always superb) and empanadas (Omgoodness, the mole sauce is to die for!) and enjoyed some quiet time with some moody country records at the bar. By the time we left, there was a nice crowd! This place is always a pleaser with strong drinks and southern comfort food.
