This 12 week, in person course is for Project Managers who are seeking the Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential and preparing for the (PMP)® Exam or the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Exam. This 12-week, in person course moves beyond the abstract theory of Project Management and addresses real-world application in the workplace. In this program, you will solve project management problems and practice the powerful tools that will be immediately useful in your work. Working with your classmates , you will tackle a real project, generate solutions, execute your plan, and get immediate feedback from your peers and instructors. These hands-on learning experiences with real business challenges will challenge you and equip you to apply what you learn at work. Classes meet Thursday's from 6-9pm.

Y-NOW Program 4/1/2025 - 2/1/2026

WHAT:

Y-NOW, a program of YMCA Safe Place Services, is seeking volunteers to serve as mentors to at-risk youth ages 11–15 who have been affected by parental incarceration or substance abuse.

WHEN:

There is an immediate need for the April 2025 class, however a new cohort starts April and October, every year.

DETAILS:

Studies have suggested that children with incarcerated parents or parents who use substances are more likely to become incarcerated or use substances themselves. Often times their grief goes unnoticed causing a higher risk of anxiety, depression, aggression, truancy, substance abuse, attention disorders, and poor academic performance. The Y-NOW program aims to break that cycle. Volunteers are needed to support every area of Y-NOW, including mentors who will listen, provide encouragement, support, and stability.

Parental incarceration or substance use affects child development and can have life-altering impacts. The problem is particularly significant here, where Kentucky has the second highest rate of incarcerated parents in the nation, at 15 percent.

Y-NOW helps kids and teens examine their own lives, experiences, choices, and behaviors so that they can reach their full potential. Each child or teen is paired with a trained mentor. The program also includes structured group meetings twice a month, along with activities such as trips, community service projects, an overnight lock-in and a graduation celebration.

All positions require completing a volunteer application, background check, orientation, and agreeing to the YMCA Safe Place Volunteer Code of Conduct.

Training is required and provided, along with ongoing support throughout the 10-month program.
