Ordered the caprese sandwich today, and it was really good! The flavors paired nicely together. I ended up cutting my pickle and eating it with it as well and it made it so much better!
My only complaint is the bread was a little burnt, but it still tasted greatHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 19, 2021
Is there anything more comforting than a grilled cheese sandwich? *Spoiler* Yes - a GOURMET grilled cheese! And this is the sweet spot where Lil Cheezers lives, taking that childhood favorite that every former-kid I know remembers fondly, and elevating that experience for your adult tastebuds.
My latest Cheezers experience was a caprese grilled cheese sandwich, with basil, tomato, and balsamic vinegar adding that familiar tang to the rich mozzerella and chewy grilled bread. Served with a pickle and potato chips and my tastebuds are in *heaven.* My 7 year old daughter got the Plain Jane and finished both halves of her sandwich, a minor miracle that let me know she loved this lunch option.
I haven't had a chance yet to try the hot brown grilled cheese but that's in my sites for next time we meet the Lil Cheezers food truck.
Finally - there's rumor of a *secret menu* item. I learned from friends yesterday that you can ask for the s'mores dessert and they'll hook you up with this off-menu dessert. I couldn't possibly eat more after that filling lunch but it may be perfect to split amongst friends in the know.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Aug 31, 2019
Finally got a grilled cheese sandwich from Lil Cheezers. I know - I'm terribly behind. They were downtown today for an event at the waterfront along with 5-6 other food trucks. My 8 year old agreed a grilled cheese sounded good so we both got the Plain Jane, a sandwich with a bag of Lays and pickle spear. For $5 it was a good deal and was definitely enough food for lunch.
Overall it was decent. A good amount of cheese and thicker bread. But, it was very buttery and more greasy than I'd have preferred and by the end of it I couldn't make up my mind if I felt full or nauseous from the butter - probably a little of both.
Their menu offers a few selections, including a patty melt. Good for a quick fix but if other food trucks are available this one wouldn't be my first pick.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Oct 31, 2019
This truck was awesome. They were parked at my office for the day but I've seen them at plenty of events in Louisville.
I got the plain Jane with tomato soup. It was only $1 to add a cup of soup. It was around $6 for a sandwich, chips, soup, and pickle spear. It was plenty for me.
The grilled cheese was great. The bread was grilled perfectly so that it had just the right amount of crunch. The grains in the bread gave it even more crunch. The tomato soup was your basic creamy tomato soup, but for a dollar, you can't beat it.
I can't wait to try this food truck again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Linda B.Louisville, KY019Apr 25, 2022
What could be wrong with a cheesy toasty buttery delicious grilled cheese sandwich?
My sandwich was toasted perfectly and the cheese was plentiful and melted beautifully
The perfect grilled cheese! And if you need variety they offer several versions of grilled cheese sandwiches.
Definitely recommend trying this food truckHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 28, 2020
I LOVE grilled cheese, it is my number 1 favorite comfort food. Naturally it is always a joy when I see Little Cheezers wherever I am. All sandwiches are made fresh, so if there is a line, it may take a little while, but they are as quick as they can be. My favorite is the basis grilled cheese with bacon. I'm not into tomatoes or anything else on my sandwich. Cheese and bacon. Give it to me, Cheezers. Delicious.

Got dang..that's some good grilled cheese!
I was recently at Waterfront Wednesday and was looking for some good food. There were a few different food trucks and Lil Cheezers sounded like the best option at the time. They've got about 6 different sandwiches on their menu, all that look pretty interesting and delicous.
I ordered the Legalize Marinara, which was basically the baby of a grilled cheese and a pizza! It had pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and marinara. And man, it was good! It definitely took grilled cheese to a whole new level. It was $7 for just the sandwich, which I thought was a tad bit expensive, but oh well. You can add chips and a drink for a couple more dollars too.
Great truck for all of you cheese lovers out there!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jun 30, 2017Updated review
I hadn't seen the truck around in recent times. But they were set up at Waterfront Wednesday, and I only had a credit card so I couldn't get cash to eat at the usual festival food booths. So I headed on over.
There was no line and I ordered the bacon and cheddar grilled cheese. $9 feels a bit steep, but you know....when you don't have many options...
For $2 more you can add chips and a soda. Or....you can order a soda with your sandwich, get charged $2 for a can of diet coke, and not receive the chips...if I'm not also getting the chips...maybe I could get that soda for $1 instead?
The food itself is fine. It took a bit longer than I might have expected, especially since there were no other orders on deck....
The awkward part came during my wait for my food, standing beside the truck, when two people on the truck started FIGHTING. Like, shouting and yelling and threatening to close up and leave and "If it keeps doing that we're shutting DOWN" "It only happened on MY food! What does it matter?!" And the fight being moved off the truck....to directly in front of the order window and the shouting and cursing continued.
It troubles me that I don't know what was "doing" what that might have had an impact on the food. It was REALLY unprofessional for the disagreement to happen where customers could hear and moreso for it to not be moved away from ear shot. And it was OBVIOUS that I could hear what was going on....no apologies or embarrassment from any of the workers.
It really turned me off and had me a worried about my food...I don't think I would return in the future. Especially if there were other options nearby.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 16, 2013Previous reviewIt's not my most favorite food truck, but you can't go wrong with grilled cheese!
I had the caprese, sans tomato (personal preference) and it was pretty damn tasty.
I understand that there are 2 different trucks that offer different sides and options.
Definitely worth a try! - Jennifer T.San Francisco, CA02May 25, 2022
I had a grilled cheese with bacon and it was absolutely amazing. If I'm ever in Louisville Kentucky again I will be definitely stopping by.
